MADISON-Former first selectman Tom Banish, who was serving on the Board of Selectman, resigned today as he accepted a new position and was unable to continue as an elected official due to work scheduling conflicts.
His notice to the Board:
"I have taken a position in Hartford and due to schedule conflicts, I will be unable to attend meetings and other Selectman events.
It is with deep regret that I must resign from my position on the Madison Board of Selectmen.
Please add my resignation to the agenda for next week’s meeting. The RTC will be sending along their nomination for my replacement in time for the board to act on it at that meeting.
I have appreciated the opportunity to serve the people of Madison over the years.
