Editors Note: The information in this article is subject to change. The article does not imply any approvals have been given.

Update 12/27: While it seems the location next to 9East will be a burger joint, it will likely not be a chain, and thus not Plan B. It will be an original restaurant. We will post updates as we get them.

This week we have a lead on a possible Plan B Burger Bar in Branford and a new hot dog joint. A second Crossfit location is coming, and a car dealership is closing.

We first told you last week of a plan that has seen the property that is currently the Delcos car dealership, across from Holiday Inn and the Ford dealership, closing and Building Concepts, which is next door, taking its place.

It is happening quickly, as Delcos is close to vacating the property, and the current building will be replaced with a 2 story structure to house Building Concepts.

Delcos closing is somewhat sad news. Bill Delcos spent his life in the auto industry, and his small dealership focused on used cars. He would often finance in house, and was well known in Branford. But he stated a changing auto industry was part of the reason he made the decision to sell the property.

But one of the main reasons the Delcos lot was acquired is to provide additional parking for the current Building Concepts spot. The location is slated to be a restaurant, and in a prime location next to the always busy 9East and across for Holiday Inn.

While we have not confirmed it, sources indicate there are talks for that location to be a Plan B Burger Bar. If you are not familiar with Plan B, there are currently 6 locations in Connecticut, with the nearest being Milford. The Milford location often boast waits of 90 minutes or more to get in as patrons wait for gourmet burgers.

On a tip from a reader, we were able to confirm that permits were issued for a new hot dog/burger place on Route 1, in between Cumberland Farms Gas station and Dunkin Donuts near the High School.

The new business is called Brandi’s Burgers; we will post more on it when we get it.

Also opening in the center of town is a new gun shop.

What types of business would you like to see in Branford?

Who owns this property? Can't be someone from BRANFORD. If they were from BRANFORD this would never get approved. This postage stamp property will now have two 2 restaurants , a 2 car ,or should I say truck garage and now even though they are separate property's a Two 2 story office building. I guess if you use the Vigglioti plan, over build, and don't come from town, or care about BRANFORD you get anything you want. At least there won't be any trailers with signs or law suits.
